09.18.15 GALA-VANT [untitled] Fundraiser

Third Space Gallery’s art auction fundraiser, hosted by CBC Information Morning Host Hance Colburne, will take place September 18th, 2015 at the Diamond Jubilee Cruise Terminal and is sure to be an event to remember.

Funds raised at GALA-VANT provide for the continued programming of local, national, and international professional artists and education initiatives. Third Space provides an outlet for exhibitions, workshops, residencies, lectures, performances, and screenings by artists who generally work outside the commercial landscape. Third Space Gallery is coming off of the wildly successful art event, THIRD SHIFT, Saint John’s first ever outdoor nighttime art exhibit featuring 17 contemporary projects spread across the Trinity Royal District of Uptown. As a not-for-profit, Third Space relies on community support in order to facilitate work that is challenging, exploratory, and enlightening.

Following the wildly successful model used for the original GALA-VANT in 2013, attendees will enjoy a black-tie art auction, hosted by Scott Thomas, of donated artworks; this time, with a special air of mystery. In addition to the traditional auction of professional art (including Amy Ash, Suzanne Hill, Jack Bishop, Jared Betts and more) we will be auctioning off work by local celebrities from outside of the visual art world. The identities of these individuals will be kept a secret until the night’s end. You can expect art work from almost 50 Saint John arts supporters; including Mayor Mel Norton, CBC Radio host Hance Colburne, NB Museum Curators Gary Hughes and Don MacAlpine and TUCK Studio’s Judith Mackin.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at www.gala-vant.com
